26th Ruth & James Ottaway Medal Recipient – Linda Muller!

For 26 years, the Citizens Foundation Board of Directors selects a citizen worthy of receiving the prestigious Ottaway Medal. Named in honor of Ruth and James Ottaway, prominent philanthropists and successful business leaders dedicated to improving quality of life in our county, the Ottaway Medal is awarded each year to a citizen who embodies their community leadership and commitment. We are proud to announce that Linda S. Muller, President and CEO of Cornerstone Family Healthcare, is the 2020 Ottaway Medal recipient.
Since 1991, Linda has served at the helm of Cornerstone with a mission to ensure that every person in our community has access to quality health care. Under her outstanding leadership, Cornerstone currently operates in 16 medical facilities in four counties. A highly regarded and respected leader in the health care field, Linda has been recognized by national, state and local organizations for her commitment and distinguished service to improving the health status of the medically under-served. Her remarkable dedication to community is evident in her service on Boards of Directors, including the NYS Council of Non-Profits, HV Economic Development Corp., OC Chamber of Commerce, where she currently serves as Chairwoman, Affinity Health Plan, where she serves as Secretary, and in her service as the Chairwoman of the Healthcare for the Homeless Committee for the National Association of Community Health Centers and the Community Health Care Association of New York State.A lifelong Orange County resident, Linda attended Washingtonville High School and SUNY Orange before obtaining her Bachelors of Arts from SUNY Buffalo and Master’s of Science in Health Policy and Administration from New School University’s Robert J. Milano School of Urban Studies in Manhattan. She and her husband of 47 years, Charles, live in Cornwall. They have three children and six grandchildren.
The Citizens Foundation has chosen an extraordinary citizen to receive the Ottaway Medal, whose outstanding leadership and lifelong commitment to community continues to improve the health, wellness and quality of life for all our citizens. Please join us in honoring Linda at the Ottaway Medal ceremony and dinner on Thursday, December 3rd at 5:30pm at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor.
